Optional: choose a calmer colour, a quieter layout and the tone Patient Genie uses for general trial explanations. This is not a health assessment, is never guessed from what you type, and is not saved or sent anywhere. Choose “No preference” to reset.

Beyond the included WHO topics

Search any disease

Find an available WHO profile, open a WHO source search, or carry the disease into a city-level trial search.

All disease terms are accepted for registry/source search. The embedded burden collection still covers only the stated WHO topics; this search does not invent missing statistics.

Geographic basemap by Esri and contributors. WHO sources supply the disease data, not the basemap.

Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom. At higher zoom levels the online basemap shows local place names and terrain. Region labels are geographic callouts, not territory boundaries. Map colours show geography—not disease severity. Location search does not create a country-level estimate.

How to read a measure

Prevalence
People living with a condition at a specified time or period.
Incidence
New cases during a specified period.
Mortality
Deaths, as a count or a rate with a stated denominator.
Age-standardized rate
A rate adjusted to a common age distribution for comparisons. It is not interchangeable with a crude rate.

What is not yet included

  • No complete country × cause × age × sex dataset or numeric country choropleth is embedded.
  • The topographic map is geographic context, not a quantitative country heatmap. Complete regional and country disease series are not embedded.
  • GHE rankings are the 2021 release; newer programme estimates are labelled separately.
  • Diabetes and hypertension prevalence metadata are provided, but their numeric prevalence series is not embedded.
  • Missing values never become zeros or invented region estimates.
WHO notes that changes in data and methods mean the 2000–2021 GHE release is not comparable with previously released WHO estimates. Compare within a consistent release and definition. Methods and release notes ↗
